Seismology

Seismology is the study of earthquakes and seismic waves. They use equipments such as seismometers and seismographs. They also use GPS ( Global Positioning System) networks and theodolites. They use creep and strain meters,too. Seismologists work for governments, some work in university campuses. The average salary rate for seismologists is about $30,000 to $100,000. Seismologists are important because they help our quality of life. The most famous seismologist was Charles Richter. He is known for developing a magnitude scale.
